Govt Orders Transfers and Postings of Several IPS and JKPS Officers, Tanushree Posted as SSP Pulwama
Srinagar, October 8: In a major administrative move, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday issued a fresh order of transfers and postings in the Police Department involving several IPS and JKPS officers. The reshuffle, ordered “in the interest of administration,” takes effect immediately.
According to Government Order No. 484-Home of 2025, issued by the Home Department, senior IPS officer Mr. Abdul Ghani Mir (AGMUT:1994) has been appointed as Commandant General, Home Guards, Civil Defence, and SDRF, J&K, relieving Mr. Alok Kumar, IPS of the additional charge.
Among other IPS officers, Mr. Mohd. Yaseen Kichloo (AGMUT:2013) has been transferred from SSP CICE Jammu to Principal, STC Talwara, replacing Mr. Mohd. Arif Rishu. Mr. Shobhit Saxena (AGMUT:2015), previously SSP Kathua, has been posted as SSP Security, J&K.
Ms. Tanushree (AGMUT:2017), earlier SP SIA Headquarters, will now serve as SSP Pulwama, succeeding Ms. P.D. Nitya, IPS. Similarly, Mr. Sahil Sarangal (AGMUT:2017) has been transferred from SSP Kulgam to SSP Handwara, while Ms. Mohita Sharma (AGMUT:2017) takes charge as SSP Kathua. Mr. Anayat Ali Choudhary (AGMUT:2017), previously SSP Shopian, will now serve as SSP Kulgam.
In the JKPS cadre, Mr. Mohd. Arif Rishu (JKPS:1999) has been transferred as Director, CTC Lethpora, while Mr. Benam Tosh (JKPS:1999), formerly SSP EOW Jammu, has been posted as Deputy Director, SKPA Udhampur. Mr. Harmeet Singh Mehta (JKPS:2001) will now serve as Commandant 13th IR Battalion, and Mr. Javid Iqbal (JKPS:2001) has been appointed as AIG CT & Intelligence.
Further, Mr. Mohd. Fiesel Qureshi (JKPS:2002) takes charge as SSP EOW Jammu, Mr. Ramnish Gupta (JKPS:2004) becomes SSP CICE Jammu, and Mr. Aijaz Ahmed Zargar (JKPS:2004) will now serve as SSP Bandipora. Mr. Mushtaq Ahmad (JKPS:2004) has been transferred as SSP Shopian.
The order also includes new postings for several officers awaiting assignments. Mr. Ashiq Hussain Tak, Mr. Owaise Rashid, Mr. Sarfaraz Bashir Ganai, Mr. Gh. Mustafa Bhat, Mr. Shahzada Kabir Mattoo, and Mr. Ashish Gupta, all JKPS officers, have been posted as Deputy Commandants in various IR and JKAP battalions across Jammu and Kashmir.
The order was issued by Mr. Chandraker Bharti, IAS, Principal Secretary to the Government, Home Department, with the approval of the Lieutenant Governor.
Officials said the reshuffle aims to bring administrative efficiency and strengthen field operations across the Union Territory’s police network.
